Our yearly course on Sign Language started again this month. This was the 2nd course this year and members of the first course persuaded us to hold a Course to continue to learn even more. Consequently, we organised a beginner’s session and an advanced course. Both were a success, proved by the feedback comments received:

“Lovely lesson – look forward to every one of them, I will learn and revise when I can.”
“Enjoyed the course immensely, great fun teacher Thank you.”
“Was anxious at first but calmed down really quickly coz of the nice atmosphere.”
“Was fun learnt a lot.”
“Brilliant course, thank you so much.”
“I felt everything was slowly starting to come together and the ‘game’ was brilliant.”
“Feeling more confident thank you for a fab teacher being so patient with us.”
“Had an amazing night – lots of fun Thank you for being such an amazing teacher.”
“2nd time round and it’s been a pleasure.”
“Brilliant last lesson, everything came together wonderfully. I thoroughly enjoyed the lessons.”
“Jane, you were excellent, and you turned a group of strangers into a wonderful class where we enjoyed the lessons. Thank you so much.”

We have relaunched our Members evening on the first Monday of the month 7pm till 9pm at the Tescos Community room – this will be an evening with various topics and interests. It’s the members evening so we would be pleased to hear from you any suggestions of what you would like to learn more about or take part in…. what are your interests? we will do our best to organise the evening for you.

One of our members had friends over from Australia and decided to take them to the Tower of London. Having helped others with TimeBanking she exchanged some of her hours for Tempo Credit Vouchers. These gave free entrance to the Tower for her and her friends saving her a total of £69.00. A great advertisement for helping others and for Tempo Vouchers. There are a multitude of places where Tempo vouchers can be exchanged. Check out their website at www.timecredits.com

Our temporary loan of mobility equipment has proved to be a very useful service. Once again, a wheelchair was borrowed to take an elderly lady out for the day, which made two people extremely happy and pleased, having had an enjoyable, stress-free day.

Our donation service is also continuing to help people – those that need to clear out or down size and those that find the things donated would be a great help to them.
